My PPTP VPN connection drops. What can I do?

There is a auto-reconnect feature built that you can enable.

In the properties of your vpn connection, click on the "options" tab. Change the "Redial Attempts" to 99. Change the "Time between redial attempts" to 1 second. Last but not least select the option that says "Redial if line is dropped". Now if the line drops you will be notified right away and it will fix itself right away.

If too many packets are dropped by your isp, the internet, or our network you will loose your connection. Often this is caused by an overloaded network segment between your isp and our servers. Try using different servers:

If the connection drops on different servers in different regions then it is likely dropped packets by your ISP.

Sometimes the SSH tunnel can be more stable when packets get lost. Try using the SSH Tunnel instead of the vpn. It handles dropped packets better.

If you need VPN functionality instead of the SSH tunnel, Try the OpenVPN also.
