I log in to your server, but the site I am visiting still knows who I am?

There are multiple ways for a site to recognize who you are. The most common is the use of cookies.
The site you visit will place a small file in your temporary internet files that records who you
logged in as, and sometimes the IP address. The next time you access the site, the site scans for
their cookie and 'conveniently' fills access forms and such. Delete cookies from your browser after
each session and you will be safe.

There are other ways for a site to recognize login info. For instance some browsers have the ability
to save your login info, and when you return to a site the browser automatically fills in the info.
Also browser add-ons such as the google toolbar and others have the ability to save login info.
